Dr. Kylie Nakamine received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Gonzaga University in 2015 and continued her education at Azusa Pacific University where she received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2018. After graduating, Dr. Nakamine worked in outpatient, private practice physical therapy for 5 years. She began her pursuit of a certificate in canine rehabilitation in 2022, which included completing her clinical rotation at Beach Animal Rehabilitation Center. She became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) in 2023 and joined the BARC team.
Her passion for canine rehabilitation began after her family dog, Ronnie, became lame in her hind limbs and required back surgery. Ronnie attended physical rehabilitation therapy and regained full mobility. After seeing the amazing benefits and improved quality of life achieved through canine rehabilitation, Dr. Nakamine knew this was the field she wanted to pursue.
In her free time, Dr. Nakamine enjoys reading, watching sports, playing basketball, and spending time with her husband.
